Every Sport at Milano Cortina 2026
All 16 Sports at Milano Cortina 2026
The 2026 Winter Olympics feature 16 sports spread across venues in Milan, Cortina d’Ampezzo, Bormio, Livigno, Anterselva, Predazzo, and Baselga di Piné. If you’ve watched every Winter Games since Salt Lake City, most of the lineup will be familiar — but there’s one notable addition.
Ski mountaineering joins the Olympic program for the first time. Athletes race uphill and downhill on skis through mountain terrain, switching between climbing skins and standard downhill gear. It’s physically brutal, tactically complex, and deeply rooted in Alpine culture. American audiences will be seeing it for the first time on this stage.
The returning 15 sports cover ice, snow, and sliding disciplines: alpine skiing, biathlon, bobsled, cross-country skiing, curling, figure skating, freestyle skiing, ice hockey, luge, Nordic combined, short track speed skating, skeleton, ski jumping, snowboard, and speed skating.
Each sport has its own section on this site with schedules, results, and a rules primer. Whether you’re a lifelong hockey fan or trying to figure out what “mass start” means in biathlon, we’ve got you covered.
